About Lycée International de Houston 

The Lycée International de Houston (LIH) was established in 2017 by passionate founders from diverse cultural backgrounds who recognized the need for a bilingual school within the Houston community. Their vision was to equip students with the skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly multicultural global society. 

As the only accredited bilingual school in Houston serving students from 18 months through 12th grade, LIH offers a unique dual-language immersion program in French and English. By combining the analytical rigor of the French Ministry of Education (AEFE) with the dynamic American curriculum, the school is committed to academic excellence. 

The Lycée International de Houston holds accreditations from the International Baccalaureate (IB) Organization, the French Ministry of Education, and the Texas Alliance of Accredited Private Schools (TAAPS). The school is also affiliated with the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE). 

Position Overview 

Lycée International de Houston is seeking an energetic, organized, and motivated School Life Coordinator for the 2026–2027 school year. 

This role is essential to ensuring the safety, well-being, and smooth daily operations of school life. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment. The position requires strong crisis-management skills, flexibility to work shifts when needed, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Strong multitasking and time-management skills 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively 
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Resourceful and proactive problem-solving abilities 
  • French and/or Spanish proficiency is a plus 

Key Responsibilities 

Student Safety & Supervision 

  • Enforce school procedures to maintain a safe learning environment 
  • Supervise students during daily activities 

Duty Scheduling 

  • Assist in creating, managing, and enforcing faculty duty schedules 

Cafeteria & Meal Coordination 

  • Oversee meal and snack distribution 
  • Coordinate and manage procurement of meals and related supplies 

Recess & Nap Time Supervision 

  • Organize and supervise recess and nap time to ensure smooth operations 

After-School Program Development 

  • Develop and oversee after-school activities 
  • Organize and schedule activities 
  • Create program catalogs 
  • Coordinate with external vendors 
  • Manage spaces, materials, and student registrations in collaboration with the accounting department 

Carpool & Pick-Up Coordination 

  • Organize and manage efficient dismissal procedures 

School Event Participation 

Assist with and participate in school-wide events, including but not limited to: 

  • Bingo Nights 
  • School Dances 
  • Egg Hunt 
  • La Kermesse 
  • Field Trips / Field Days 
  • Movie Nights 

Classroom Support 

  • Supervise classrooms during staff absences 
  • Follow teacher lesson plans and instructions 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to actively monitor and manage student behavior 
  • Ability to move around classrooms and school grounds 
  • Ability to lift and carry light classroom materials as needed
