IB Program, International Baccalaureate® (IB) - Diploma Programme (DP)

LIH – Lycée International de Houston is authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB Program) Diploma Program.

The International Baccalaureate World Schools are regarded as the gold standard of education around the world, the IB Diploma Program is offered in 138 countries. It is recognized by the most prestigious colleges and universities in the world, including Harvard and MIT.

Embracing academic challenges for lifelong success. The Diploma Program (DP) is offered to upperclassmen within two years of study: Grades 11 and 12. This is an academically challenging program pursued by students who are preparing for success within a university setting and beyond. DP coursework addresses the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical well-being of our students at a rigorous level of study. Full Diploma Program students agree to test in six subject areas (English, World Languages, Humanities, Sciences, Mathematics, and Arts) and their successful completion of IB exams with a passing score can lead to college credits in a given subject.

TAAPS - Texas Alliance of Accredited Private Schools

Texas Association of Accredited Private Schools (TAAPS)

The Texas Alliance of Accredited Private Schools (TAAPS) sets the standards for excellence in Texas education. Since 1988, its primary mission seeks to accredit private schools that meet the standards of the association and continue to maintain the quality of education as expected by the Texas Education Agency. the TAAPS received the official recognition of the Texas Alliance of Accredited Private Schools Commission (TEPSAC)

AEFE- Agency for French Education Abroad

AEFE - Agence pour l'Enseignement Français à l'Etranger

The LIH – Lycée International de Houston is accredited by the French Ministry of Education and is part of the network of the Agency for French Education Aboard (AEFE).

The school is inspected regularly by representatives of the French Ministry of Education for adherence to the French curriculum and educational practices. This allows our students to transfer into any French school and universities in France or any other country throughout the world.

The Agency for French Education Aboard is a network of over 500 primary, middle and high schools in 130 countries offering programs that meet the standards of the French Ministry of Education, ensuring on-grade transfers to French-affiliated schools worldwide.

AEFE member schools embrace the universal values of tolerance, humanism, equal opportunity, intellectual curiosity, and critical thinking.

The Texas Private Schools Association is a statewide organization representing more than 800 accredited private schools and 250,000 students throughout the state of Texas. TPSA advocates for the independence of Texas private schools, ensuring their freedom to fulfill their unique missions and meet the diverse needs of students.

Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC)

TAAPS accreditation agency approved by the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC).

  • TEPSAC was established by the Texas Education Agency to help ensure quality in private schools by monitoring and approving organizations that accredit the various non-public elementary and secondary educational institutions in Texas.
  • The relationship of TEPSAC with the State Commissioner of Education allows for the following activities related to accredited non-public schools:
  • TEPSAC is not an accrediting organization. It is a confederation of accrediting associations whose primary purpose is to maintain standards of accreditation among its membership. Individual schools may seek accreditation from a TEPSAC associate member.

*Transferability of student credits earned in accredited non-public schools to Texas public schools

*Recognition of teacher service in accredited non-public schools for salary increment purposes in Texas public schools

The Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC) helps ensure quality in private schools by monitoring and approving organizations that accredit the various non-public elementary and secondary educational institutions in the state of Texas. Since 1986, the Texas Education Agency, through the Commissioner of Education, has recognized the accreditation responsibilities of TEPSAC and its affiliated non-public schools and associations. Subsequent to the establishment of TEPSAC in 1989, direct accreditation of non-public schools by the Agency was phased out and discontinued.
