International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP)
LIH – Lycée International de Houston is authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. Recognized as the gold standard of education worldwide, the IB Diploma Programme is offered in 138 countries and is accepted by prestigious universities. The program develops critical thinking, research skills, and global awareness, preparing students for university and beyond. IB students complete coursework in six subject areas: English, World Languages, Humanities, Sciences, Mathematics, and Arts, with successful exam completion leading to potential college credits.

Texas Alliance of Accredited Private Schools (TAAPS)
LIH’s rigorous academic curriculum and programs are recognized and accredited by TAAPS (Texas Alliance of Accredited Private Schools). TAAPS upholds the highest educational standards in Texas and ensures quality education through accreditation, professional development, and continued academic excellence. TAAPS is officially recognized by the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC), further validating our institution’s commitment to excellence.

AEFE - Agency for French Education Abroad
LIH is accredited by the French Ministry of Education and is a proud member of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), a network of over 500 schools in 130 countries. AEFE-accredited schools ensure consistency in French academic standards, allowing seamless transfers to other French schools and universities worldwide. AEFE schools promote universal values of tolerance, humanism, equal opportunity, intellectual curiosity, and critical thinking.

Memberships and Associations

Texas Private school association (TPSA)
LIH is a member of the Texas Private Schools Association (TPSA), which represents over 800 accredited private schools and 250,000 students across Texas. TPSA advocates for the independence of private schools, ensuring their ability to fulfill unique educational missions while meeting high academic standards.

Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC)
TAAPS accreditation is approved by the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC). Established by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), TEPSAC ensures quality education by monitoring and approving organizations that accredit private schools across Texas. TEPSAC accreditation allows for:
- Transferability of student credits between accredited private and public schools.
- Recognition of teacher service in accredited private schools for salary increments in public institutions.
- Quality assurance and continuous improvement in private school education.

Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS)
Chartered in 1978, the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) serves to organize, stimulate, encourage and promote the academic, athletic and fine arts programs in an effort to foster a spirit of fair play, good fellowship, true sportsmanship and wholesome competition for boys and girls. From a humble beginning of 20 member schools in 1978, twelve of which remain members, TAPPS has grown to a membership of 230 schools with a combined enrollment of over 40,000 students. Schools are presently aligned in six (6) classifications with districts across the state of Texas.
