The Lycée International de Houston, LIH, was established in 2017 by passionate individuals from different cultural backgrounds and founders who recognized the need for a bilingual school in the Houston community. Their goal was to equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in an ever-growing multicultural global society. As the sole accredited 18-month through 12th-grade school in Houston, the Lycée International de Houston offers a unique dual-language immersion program in both French and English. By combining the analytical thinking methods of the French Ministry of Education (AEFE) with the dynamic American Curriculum, the school remains dedicated to maintaining academic excellence. Job description
We are seeking a creative and skilled Photographer/Videographer to join our school’s marketing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for capturing and producing high-quality photos and videos that showcase school events, activities, and the overall school environment. This role will be instrumental in telling the story of the school through visual content that engages students, parents, staff, and the community.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience as a photographer and videographer, preferably in an educational or event setting.
- Proficient in using professional cameras, video equipment, and editing software (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in both photography and videography.
- Excellent eye for detail, composition, and visual storytelling.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work during school events, which may include evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Photography, Videography, Media Production, or a related field.
- Experience in graphic design and basic animation.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and trends, particularly in content creation for schools or education-focused campaigns
Responsibilities:
Photography:
- Capture high-quality images of school events, students, staff, classrooms, and extracurricular activities.
- Edit and retouch photos to ensure they meet the school’s brand and quality standards.
- Maintain and organize a library of photos for marketing, communications, and archival purposes.
Videography:
- Plan, shoot, and edit videos for school events, promotional materials, and social media content.
- Conduct interviews with students, staff, and administration for video content.
- Ensure all video content is engaging, informative, and aligns with the school’s mission and branding.
Content Management:
- Assist in managing the school’s website and social media accounts by providing high-quality visual content.
- Organize digital assets to ensure easy access and use for various school departments.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the school’s marketing team and event coordinator to brainstorm and develop creative concepts.
- Coordinate with teachers, staff, and administrators to cover key events and activities.
- Attend school events, both during and outside regular school hours, to capture content.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Manage and maintain photography and videography equipment, ensuring all gear is in proper working condition.
- Stay up-to-date on new photography and videography techniques, tools, and trends.
Working Conditions:
This role requires flexibility, as the candidate will work in both indoor and outdoor environments. The position may involve standing for extended periods and lifting/carrying equipment.
