Applicants from AEFE Accredited Schools or France
Applicants from schools accredited by the French Ministry of National Education (écoles homologuées) or schools within France must provide the following minimum requirements:
- Bulletin or Livret scolaire for the current school year
- Bulletin or Livret scolaire for all terms of the previous school year
- Certificat de scolarité from the current school
At the Lycée International de Houston, we believe the admission of students, like the hiring of faculty, defines who we are and what we aspire to be as a school. The goal of the admission process is to determine the personal and academic strengths of the candidate. We also want to ensure that a the bilingual or IB education is the right fit for the student and one that offers an environment in which the student will be successful.
School records, current teacher evaluations, and application materials provide the Admission Committee with important information on how the student functions in school. These documents also provide relevant information on the student’s learning style, achievements, and social behavior in an academic environment. In addition, a visit to the school, an interview, and admission testing are all used to assess the student.
What matters most, however, is the overall impression our admission officers get concerning each applicant. While the degree of expectation varies from grade to grade, certain desirable qualities and standards remain constant:
- Character – leadership, cooperativeness, honesty
- Industry – perseverance and discipline in completing tasks
- Competence – academic promise and achievement
- Unique interests and talents – the arts, athletics, interests
The Admission Committee thoroughly reviews each candidate’s file and takes into consideration all aspects that will determine the student’s admission to the school.
The Lycée International de Houston offers students of any race, national, and ethnic origin, or disability all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the Lycée International de Houston
