At the Lycée International de Houston, we aspire to fill our students’ days—beyond regular school hours—with as many opportunities as possible to explore their individual interests and strengthen our community’s bonds.

After-school extracurricular activities are comprised of artistic, social and athletic activities and are available to students after their regular school hours and are hosted on campus. These programs give students time after school to immerse themselves in new experiences and continue their globally minded education beyond their regular coursework. Extra-curricular extends learning beyond the classroom as it gives students an outlet to build strengths and interest.

At LIH, your child has the opportunity to benefit from these rewarding and diverse after school activities weekly, from 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

After School Extended Day Care

The Extended Day Program at LIH takes place after school hours in a warm and friendly environment to meet the needs of students and families. We have flexible enrollment options and provide before care starting at 3:15 p.m. for la Crèche/18 months and TPS/Prekindergarten 2 and 4:30 p.m. for Prekindergarten 3 to Terminale/12th grade after school care until 6:00 p.m.

Our program is designed to provide a snack time, supervised outdoor play, various recreational indoor activities allowing children to play alone or in small groups, and a quiet area from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for doing homework for students in CP/1st grade – CM2/5th grade with academic support from our faculty members.

The Extended Day Program will not operate during holidays, Winter holiday, inclement weather days or in the event of an early dismissal. However, the program will operate during our Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer Breaks.

About Snapology

Snapology provides interactive robotics and coding programs for children ages 3-14 using LEGO® bricks. Students in our robotics programs learn pseudo-coding, coding, robotics and engineering principles. Using fun topics and themes, such as animals, games, space and battle machines, we embrace children’s interest and curiosity to guide them through robotics and engineering principles.

About Modern Contemporary Dance

A flow-based class that borrows from jazz, ballet, and modern dance. Contemporary Dance class will start with a floor warm-up that will progress into task-based improvisation. Movement patterns across the floor or in the center that repeat on each side will move into a longer combination that will connect all previous aspects of class. This emotionally expressive dance class will push today’s boundaries of movement in an uplifting, supportive, and motivating environment.
