Admission Process

Through our rigours multilingual curriculum and international exposure, Lycée International de Houston students become equipped to meet the challenges of an increasingly global world, whether they are pursuing college admission, competitive careers, or their life endeavors.

Admission Process

Preschool Admissions

As admission is selective and cannot be guaranteed, the Lycée International de Houston is strongly guided by our mission and philosophy: to provide students with a world-class international education in a welcoming, caring, and non-discriminatory environment. Children of all races, religions, national and ethnic origins, and socioeconomic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Steps Toward Admission
Below are the steps to take to ensure you will be prioritized for admissions consideration, while also receiving timely and thorough answers to the questions important to you.

1. Online Application Form
An application fee of $320. Apply

Photo or passport for each student and parent statement must be submitted.

2. Mandatory Testing
-Applicants to KG/GS must submit the results of the WPPSI.

Locally, we recommend Education Specialists  LLC for testing. Please contact Tami Clark of (713-461-7996) to schedule the individual evaluation Student Info form.

For applicants outside of the Houston area, the WISC , WPPSI-4 and WPPSI tests can be administered by any certified psychologist. Please have the results sent to the Lycée International de Houston. The test should be administered in the child’s first language.

3. Request a Teacher Recommendation
If your child currently attends school, please submit a confidential teacher recommendation form via link  to your child’s current school. The form should be electronically submitted to the Lycée International de Houston by your child’s current teacher.

4. Interview / Observation
A parent interview and students observation is required for all applicants . The Admission committee works hard to put together a well balanced and diverse community of students who will thrive in our bilingual program. Admission coordinator will contact you to schedule your interview and student observation.

5. Mandatory Medical Information
Please submit student immunization records to Magnus

Evaluation of Applications

After those steps have been taken, our admissions team will evaluate each candidate based on the application, the candidate’s school record, teacher recommendations, interviews, and academic testing.

The ISEE is an achievement test and is more content-oriented, relating to what a student should know given their grade level. This test is norm-referenced with other private schools.

STUDENT ASSESSMENT

The Lycée International de Houston School has a selective admission process. We evaluate each applicant based on the following criteria to make a determination as to whether the Lycée International de Houston school is the right fit.

We require the following to complete our admissions process:

-Online Application
-Testing: WPPSI, WISC or ISEE
-Teacher Recommendation(s)
-Interview / Observation
-Report Cards/Transcript
-Immunization Record

In addition to these requirements, we look for students who are academically motivated and exhibit a curiosity for learning.

Applicants to K/GS and 1st grade/CP must submit the results of the WPPSI.

Applicants to 2nd through 4th grade must submit the results of the WISC.

For applicants outside of the Houston area, the WISC and WPPSI tests can be administered by any certified psychologist. Please have the results sent to The Lycée  International de Houston School. The test should be administered in the child’s first language.
Applicants to 5th through 12th grade must submit results of the ISEE.

SCHOOL HOURS

Drop-off begins at 7:30 AM for all grades

La Crèche to TPS/Nursery to PK2grade

  • Drop off: 7:30 AM – 7:50 AM
  • Classes MON – FRI: 7:50 AM – 3:15 PM
  • Extended Day: 3:15 to 6:00 PM

PS – CM2/PK3 to 5th grade

  • Drop off: 7:30 AM – 7:50 AM
  • Classes Mon-Fri: 7:50 AM – 3:15 PM
  • Study Hall and Language enrichment 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM
  • Extracurricular activities/Aftercare 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM
  • School closes 6:00 PM

6ème -Terminale (6th to 12th grade)

  • Drop off: 7:30 AM – 7:50 AM
  • Classes Mon-Fri: 7:50 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Extracurricular activities/Aftercare 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM
  • School closes 6:00 PM
