Job description

Lycée International de Houston is seeking a skilled Web Developer with a strong background in web coding and experience developing and maintaining websites tailored for educational programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, coding, and modifying websites, from layout to functionality, ensuring a smooth and engaging user experience for students, teachers, and administrative staff. In addition to development, you will collaborate with the marketing team to enhance the school’s online presence, manage social media integrations, and drive digital engagement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Web Developer.
  • Proficiency in front-end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and experience with modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Strong back-end development skills using server-side languages (e.g., PHP, Python) and other database management systems.
  • Experience with CMS platforms (WordPress)
  • Understanding of responsive and adaptive design principles.
  • Familiarity with web security standards and best practices for educational institutions.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices for optimizing website performance.
  • Understanding of UX/UI design principles.
  • Experience with social media platforms and digital marketing.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with marketing teams and experience integrating social media with websites.

Experience:

  • Maximum of 5 years’ experience in Digital Marketing, or a related field.
  • Web development: 5 years (Required)

Responsibilities:

Website Development & Maintenance:

  • Design, code, and maintain the school’s program websites to enhance educational content delivery, Admission Enrollment program, Magnus Health portal and Accounting program combined with the Admission portal.

Custom Web Solutions:

  • Develop custom web applications and solutions for online learning tools, Admissions portal, student portals, and teacher resources.

Front-End Development:

  • Create responsive, user-friendly designs and layouts using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other modern frameworks.

Back-End Development:

  • Build robust back-end systems using technologies like PHP, Python, or other server-side languages to ensure seamless integration with databases and other systems used by the School.

Content Management Systems (CMS):

  • Manage and customize CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, or other school-specific platforms) to meet the evolving needs for the School programs.

Marketing & Social Media Integration:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to integrate web content with social media channels (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn), ensuring consistent branding and messaging across platforms. Help create landing pages and optimize web content for marketing campaigns, enrollment drives, and event promotions.

SEO & Digital Strategy:

  • Implement SEO best practices to drive traffic to the school’s websites and improve visibility in search engine results. Support digital marketing strategies by optimizing website content, improving user engagement, and tracking key performance metrics.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with educators, administrators, marketing, and the IT department to gather requirements and deliver websites that align with educational goals and user needs.

Security & Compliance:

  • Ensure that all websites and web applications adhere to privacy regulations (e.g., FERPA) and are secure against cyber threats. Regularly update and patch systems.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization:

  • Continuously monitor website performance, fix bugs, and improve page loading times and overall user experience.

Mobile Optimization:

  • Ensure that all web content is mobile-friendly and accessible on all devices, including tablets and smartphones.

Training & Support:

  • Provide training and technical support to Administration and staff in using web tools and platforms effectively.
